I haven't been able to make much time for myself this last week. I was supposed to be at another conference with my supervisor, but I just haven't had time to prepare a paper for the conference. Hence, I'm still here in CT, and life just doesnt stop heaping it on. Still, I did manage to make it to the beach the other day, which was glorious - we've since returned to wintery weather, but on Tuesday the sun was shining fiercely, and the sunset was amazing. And, of course, my hound loved me for it - he may be afraid of the waves, but he sure loves running away from them!

Well, this week is getting close to crunch time for the online course I'm preparing, so I'm working my ass off at the moment. My sister spent the whole day at the beach with my dog, but I FROZE my ass off in our house all day in front of the computer. How can it be so cold? After much consideration, I think I am going to try and upgrade my degree to a doctorate at the end of the year, which eans another year in Cape Town (isn't life hard!?) with much more useful qualification at the end of it. But it does mean that I cna't go home for another year, which is really a mixed bag - I miss my home and family so much, but the opportunities in Zim
